Before you update

  • Back up your patches using CONNECT. Updates are meant to preserve them, but a backup costs a minute and an unbacked-up bank does not come back. How to back up
  • Plug UNA directly into your computer, not through a USB hub.
  • Close your DAW, and anything else holding UNA's MIDI ports open.
  • Do not disconnect the cable or cut power while the update is running.

Installing

UNA is updated with the free Teensy Loader application. The whole thing takes a couple of minutes.

  1. Download the .hex file above.
  2. Install Teensy Loader for your operating system, if you don't already have it.
  3. Connect UNA to your computer with a USB cable and power it on.
  4. Open the .hex file in Teensy Loader, then follow the prompt to program the device.
  5. UNA restarts on its own. Check your patches came through intact — confirming that is genuinely useful to us.

The manual walks through it step by step, with screenshots and the recovery route if something goes wrong: Updating with Teensy Loader.

If the update fails, or UNA won't boot afterwards

It is almost always recoverable — the bootloader lives in separate hardware and a failed flash cannot erase it. See Troubleshooting, or ask in Discord and we'll walk you through it.

All releases

Every version stays available at a permanent address. If a release doesn't suit you, downloading the previous one and flashing it is the way back.

Verifying your download

Optional, and worth doing if you got the file from anywhere other than this page. The result should match the SHA-256 shown with the download above.

Windows

certutil -hashfile UNA.hex SHA256

macOS

shasum -a 256 UNA.hex
